Brand new (literally it arrived on Saturday) and DD has already got makeup on it this morning.

Your suggestions for cleaning it gratefully received.

Please refrain from questioning the choice of chair for her bedroom.
I have already had that conversation with myself 😌

TIA

What is the mark?

FunLurker · 24/06/2024 10:17

As in blusher, eyeshadow, lipstick?

Get a throw in a dark colour that you can stick in the washing machine .

no idea how to get make up out of a white chair, washing up liquid on a sponge ?

Oh god I got foundation on my cream carpet as a teenager my top tip for cleaning it was to cover it with a bean bag 😂

For this I'd dab not rub with either a make up wipe or micellar(sp) water until it lifts off.

In her bedroom, you say? If she's old enough to use make-up, she's old enough to google, if she's bothered.
Personally,I would try makeup remover, or Fairy liquid or Ariel. But she needs to do it, not you. If it doesn't work and you've either recommended something or done it yourself, you will be blamed.

At least it’s white so no concerns about cleaning causing fading. Would be been much worse if it has been a colour. Also bouclé so no issues about bobbling. Not such a bad choice at all really!

You’ll need detergent to lift out the oilyness but should come up OK. Just use a bar of soap and a clean wet cloth, give it a good rub to agitate (you could also use a toothbrush) and then dab with a second cloth dipped in water to rinse out soap, keep rinsing the second cloth under the tap. Try not to spread it too widely.

Thank you for all the posts.

DD has got most of it off and is going to try some vanish now for the final stubborn remains.
