Am I Overreacting? Seeking advice on incomplete post-renovation cleaning service and refund dispute

Hello, I'm in need of advice. A few months back, I engaged the services of Fantastic Services for a post-renovation cleaning job. Unfortunately, they didn't manage to complete the service as they ran out of time, and the cleaners refused to extend their stay. Consequently, I was left with an excessively dusty house. I promptly contacted them to demand a refund, but they only offered a partial reimbursement, which I found quite laughable. I went ahead and lodged a claim through the Small Claims Court. Unfortunately, the court discontinued the proceedings. It seems rather futile, considering Fantastic Services operates as a franchise. The claim should ideally be directed towards the specific provider of the service, rather than being aimed at Fantastic Services as a whole. I also attempted to dispute the charge with my credit card company, but since Fantastic Services technically provided the service, the charge was upheld.

Do you have any other suggestions or am I being unreasonable?

If you employed and paid them for eg three hours and the job would take four hours then you are being unreasonable as the job was obviously too big to be completed in the time you booked them for

demand A refund

This never goes well…perhaps if you’d engaged in a discussion you may have got somewhere
