Weird stains from washing machine

Several of my clothes have come out of the washing machine recently with brown stains on - can’t remove them with any stain remover so the clothes are basically ruined. Any idea what might be causing this before I contact a washing machine person?

Before you call anyone I would thoroughly clean the entire washing machine and filter - use a special washing machine cleaner, pay special attention to the seal and scrub the drum thoroughly. I really like the Dettol washing machine cleaner.

If you've already done that, and haven't changed anything else recently then no idea.

Get a washing machine cleaner, put some on a cloth and rub all around, and in the inside gap but, if the door seal then do a machine clean with the rest.
I had stuff come out with black oil type stains every wash & cleaning the machine thoroughly sorted it. I’d do that before calling someone and paying.
