Cleaning microfibre sofa?

I have light grey microfibre sofas from DFS. The seat cushion covers are removable but the back has no loose cushions. They have got really grubby and while I have a sort of foam thing to spot clean, I keep finding that I end up with water marks after that plus some marks and overall grubbiness doesn’t come out with that (like they’re going a bit beige).

I have previously had them professionally cleaned but it cost a fortune and I’m looking at getting rid of them in the next year also anyway so I don’t really want to fork out. Obviously you’re not meant to put the seat cushion covers in the washing machine but I wondered if anybody had successfully done this? I guess I am worried about them either shrinking or ending up with loads of watermarks as they’ve dried…

My DFS sofa is 10+ years old and I've been washing the seat covers throughout.
They are removable, but aren't advised as washable.
I started doing them on a fairly low heat, but now I do them on 60°c.

I've never noticed watermarks, but then they are patterned. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't though, as they are uniformly wet all over and it all dried together.

TBH I think mine may have shrunk very slightly, but they still fit the cushions fine.
