Which Henry vacuum cleaner?

We need a new vacuum cleaner - have a robot one but need an old style now to help clean up after renovations. A Henry seems ideal (always popular with trades) but I had no idea there were different types.

Anyone know what the differences are, which would be best? We do have a cat but she mainly stays downstairs where we have hard floors.

I have a Henry extra, you get more tools, 10 years old and just as powerful

Just came on to ask for recommendations to replace our Henry as he's falling apart. He's also too heavy to carry up and down a 3 storey for me.

I bought a ‘James’ to replace our old Hetty as it’s supposed to be lighter. Can’t say it feels any lighter at all and it looks messy because it doesn’t have a top cover for the cable. Still has amazing suction, but do wish I’d gone for another Hetty just from the tidiness point of view

Ive got a henry and hetty. I bought hetty to use upstairs as its a bit smaller but discovered that it only has one (strong) setting and as i have some small rugs upstairs it didnt work as it just sucked up the rugs! So ive had to swap them round but i do find the hetty annoying not being able to change the strength of sucking.

I bought the George 3-in-1 ( vacuum/shampoo/suction if you have a spill)
It is huge , heavy and feels like a workout to use so it only comes out for major cleans .Though the power it harnesses is immense !
On the stairs I make DS or DD hold the bloody thing in case I yank the hose and it falls on me and kills me .
(Because you know they are Smugly Plotting your demise )

Don’t get a Henry, I hate ours with a passion. It’s heavy, unwieldy and will get stuck on the slightest obstacle.

I'm watching this thread as thinking of buying one too, and not sure which one to choose

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 05/06/2024 20:13

I believe Henry VIII cleaned up pretty well.

We just recently bought a Henry after my third shark vacuum broke and I refused to spend silly money again on an over priced vacuum.
So far I'm really pleased with Henry and find it far better than the shark ones ever were.

I sadly gave away my hetty on eBay 10 years ago

But missed it so got another one on eBay for £40 and it's a hetty eco. So both a strong and not strong suck.

I am in a flat so one plug in the hall covers entire flat!
