Oilcloth - What will clean it?

I bought an oil cloth last week thinking it would be easier to wipe clean than the table (old) but some Dolmio stained it straight away. I've used a solution of biological washing powder and now bleach and it hasn't shifted.
I don't think it's a very good one as it's a bit thin and is not heavy enough not to slip all over the place. Still cost me £20 though

Sorry, can't offer a solution but it reminds me of the last time I bought an oil cloth and my main criterion was that the pattern should mask tomato sauce stains.

I sympathise with you as the same thing happened here. Try soaking the stain with bathroom spray (Flash) and leave it on for about 1/2 an hour. You might have to do it several times.
If all else fails a vase of flowers over the spot.

Leave it in the sun in summer. If we get a summer or any bright sun this year

Thanks...will try those things and next time I buy one it will have a red blobby pattern as uberalice suggests rather than a tasteful cream leafy one.
