Sticky rubber gloves - always - argh

I get my washing up gloves from Aldi usually. Recently, in the last few months, I've noticed that the finger tips have got really sticky once they've been in use for a short while. Not sticky with stuff in them - I wash them off and hang them up every day - but be like they themselves are sticky, the material is getting tacky. Why is this and can I stop it? It's wildly frustrating.

Bump / I know this is a very boring question.

No idea why but after they are dried can you sprinkle a little bit of talc inside? That should help with the tackiness.

I think it's a quality/materials issue. I know they're more expensive, but marigolds don't do this.

It's the outside that is getting sticky not the inside.

Maybe I will have to upgrade my gloves - I was hoping to find another solution. How long do marigolds usually last? If they last longer they might not actually be more expensive wear for wear

Yes I know exactly what you mean. I've tried cheap ones and they all do this.

Marigolds are definitely worth the extra.

Edited to add, yes they last for ages!

Ohhhhh, I thought you meant inside.

I am still using marigolds for washing up I bought 5 years ago. How long do your aldi ones last for?

Actually the insides of cheap gloves can be a bit unpleasant too, the cotton lined Marigolds are very comfy OP.

Might be down to your cleaning products being ones that react with the glove plastic.

ExhaustedHousewife · 03/06/2024 14:14

Aldi, marigolds, tesco, sainsburys, none of them last me! I think I must be a tough scrubber.😀

MarbledHoodie · 03/06/2024 14:30

Oh dear - I use Aldi washing up liquid. I wonder which ones won't destroy my gloves in a brace of shakes.
