Does anyone have an integrated ironing board ?

And would you recommend it?

Planning a new kitchen and will avoid a tall cupboard if I can, so wondered if these are worth considering. (I don't have a utility room)

Only 2 of us left at home and don't do the marathon ironing sessions I used to do so would only have minimal use.

Thoughts would be great please.

We used to and it was awful - it was so wobbly you couldn’t really use it. So I’d only consider it if you know it will be a good one!

One of my friends has one . . . it's quite small and folds out of a drawer. She didn't know it was there until she moved into her house! She's delighted with it

I have a fold out and swivel ironing board in a shallow (it is the depth of an iron essentially) ironing cupboard on the upstairs landing - close to wardrobes in a well lit and underused part of the house. Works very well and is big enough for most things apart from possibly bedding but I don't iron that anymore apart from some pillowcases.

@Mytholmroyd I've been wondering if ironing upstairs was the answer. I could just keep the ironing board in one of the spare bedrooms instead of the kitchen.

We keep our ironing board in the airing cupboard (OH does not put it away and keeps it open in the spare bedroom), upstairs. All ironing is done upstairs but then we only iron the odd thing when we're going to wear it. Once we have re decorated and sorted out, my plan is to have it hanging from the rear of the spare bedroom door

Makes life so much easier - and yes, very quick to just iron something when you are getting ready to go out.

I keep my ironing basket in the airing cupboard nearby too
