Mouldy hammock- how do I clean it?

Hello. I have left a canvas hammock outside (I realise that this is appalling behaviour).

it is now mouldy but the fabric seems fine otherwise. After putting it through the wash, it is still badly stained with the would.

How can I clean it? And will it ever be white again?

I poured some white vinegar onto our sunlounger cushions and gave it a good scrub. Incredible results!

I'm sorry, and this is completely off topic, but the phrase 'mouldy hammock' made me roar with laughter for absolutely no reason.

It's a great insult.

I suppose it does sound like an insult or an innuendo @Vroomfondleswaistcoat

I will try to use it later today…

It sounds like a euphemism for something 😏

One method to try is, on a sunny day, stretch the canvas out, cover in a thick layer of damp salt and allow to dry. Brush off the salt. Reapply if necessary. Or perhaps just wipe with a strong brine and allow to dry. I’ve never actually had to try it out.

But vinegar first because that’s what actually kills the mould.

friend used rhino goo from Amazon which is recommended for removing algae etc from motor homes! Got rid of all the mould from her sunbed!
