clothes label - driving me mad!

CharlotteBog · 17/05/2024 11:17

The clothes label on the inside of my top is annoying me something rotten.
It's on the side, not the neck. I've cut off as much as I can, but what remains is stitched in with the seam i.e. if I unpick it there will be a hole in the top.

What can I do?

Is this the right board to post in?

HELP!

Won't I then have to sew it up again?

Often the label is stitched over the seam of the garment.

Look closely and you might be able to unpick the thread securing the label without disturbing the actual seam on the top.

I said in my OP "but what remains is stitched in with the seam i.e. if I unpick it there will be a hole in the top."

I know how to detach a label which is stitched over the seam.

Just re-stitch the seam? It will only be a few stitches so not a massive project - I wouldn't even bother to get my sewing machine threaded and would hand stitch.

I will ask a friend. It's a fine knit and I am not a fine seamstress!
