Velvet sofa

Please does anyone have any tips for cleaning a velvet sofa? If I use a damp cloth it leaves a mark but with a dog and two young children I need some tips! It comes up nicely when I've had it professionally cleaned but can't afford to keep getting it done! Definitely wouldn't recommend a velvet sofa with a young family 😫

What do the professionals use to clean it?

Could you get one of those but a budget version?

We got a cleaning kit from DFS that has a special spray and cloth that works well.

Ooh following. We just Hoover and I use a lint roller! Not sure it cleans it though. It looks good after 2/3 years with dog and kids jumping on it. But would like to actually clean it properly
