DIY Blackboard and magnetic board out of MDF??

Has anyone made one??

I know you can buy magnetic paint and blackboard paint, so is there anything stopping me painting some MDF with magnetic paint then painting over with blackboard paint??? I want a magnetic blackboard for my kitchen!!

Will it still work??

Has anyone used the magnetic/blackboard paint and did it actually work??

Yes it will. I used magnetic paint on the kitchen wall, then painted over with the normal kitchen emulsion. Works a treat.

You do need to use several coats of the magnetic stuff though.
