Any tips on cleaning a large rug?

Not particularly dirty as hoover regularly and clean dogs paws but it needs a clean as looks bit grubby in few areas that are lighter colour.
Appreciate any tips for easy cleaning/quick drying. Thank you.

My living room rug, I power washed outside out my patio, took days to dry, brought cleaning machine after, which I used to suck water out of it, still power wash them. My bedroom runs I just use machine as so delicate and dry over fence.
