New mattress day 2 hips slightly sore

I just replaced my old latex mattress, it was like sleeping on a cloud yet supportive as well but I'd had it for years and needed a replacement.

I got my new one from the same local family run bed shop. The new one felt comfy enough in the shop but it's medium firm, he said they don't sell the latex one now. I've seen them online but they're not cheap.

First night was OK, but I definitely noticed a difference, I was lying on it as opposed to sinking slightly into it. But I slept fine.

But this morning I woke with a little hip pain. I think because I tried sleeping on my side (I switch betweenside and back sleeping). The guy in the shop said it can take some time to get used to a new mattress. I don't think I can send this one back if it's no good. Would a topper help? Feeling a bit sad now that the old mattress is gone, it was so comfortable without being hot to sleep on.

Thanks for any comments.

I think it does take time to break in a new mattress. I got a bit achy when my current one was new but it is lovely and comfy now. Just follow any instructions that came with it about rotating it etc and eventually you'll find the way around that it feels best.

Yes it can take a while to break in a new mattress it hasn't moulded to you yet.

I had this with a new mattress and a topper sorted it immediately.

Thanks everyone, how long did it take to break yours in? I'm sitting here dreaming about my old mattress.

I'll look at toppers too.
