Ants have taken over

I'm ashamed to say ants have taken over my kitchen. Can anyone help? I've tried pouring boiling water outside, Nippon ant powder inside and cinnamon. None of it has worked. I think the nest is inside. I spotted a load of ants going behind a tile - it seems they have a passage to my bathroom as some have appeared in there as well. They are small black ants. I think they came inside when I bought some vegetable cuttings in but can't be sure.

I always have the annual ant migration from outside nests checking out my kitchen.

The ant stations you put down are ace. They spend a day drinking from it then I don't see any again from the next day.

You can get them from supermarkets. They are little boxes you snap off small compartments to expose the poison.

Agree, ant stations are the only thing I've found works. Thanks OP, you've reminded me I need to get some in!

Apparently if you wipe things over with vinegar then that destroys the smell of their route. That may be helpful until you can get ant stations.

Agree ant stations ( Nippon). But it’s really important that you don’t disturb/ kill them when they’re coming to the station to get the yummy poison as they will take it back to the nest and it will eradicate them.

Try Diatomaceous Earth Powder , you can buy it on eBay etc , used for chicken mite amongst other things . Safe for humans and pets , bloody brilliant stuff , like a fine talc powder , just sprinkle anywhere you see the ants , can be hoovered/ brushed up after . Can use indoors and out , but will need replacing outside after rain .

Can you use ant stations outside? I noticed a few shrubs wilting, not flowering etc so thought I’d move them. Went to dig one up and there are loads of ants plus small white things 🤢. I then dug a few other holes and there are hundreds of them! Never seen anything like it.
