I have an iron that is perfectly fine except someone (not me!) has caught the edge of it repeatedly on the iron stand - so there is a tiny patch on the sole plate/side of the soleplate where the ceramic has worn off and it catches on material from time to time.
When I say tiny - I mean tiny - it's not even a millimeter wide. If you imagine bashing the edge of something painted on a metal edge - so that you get a slight slight loss of paint - that's what it looks like.
It's really irritating that it catches when ironing - I think it's the side edge rather than the base when moving over material that isn't totally flat.
I don't really want to replace a whole iron and send it to land fill/recycling when it is working fine.
It there anything I can paint on to cover this tiny chip/scratch part that will stop it catching and make it glide-y? Any ideas?
