VAX is good

laundrylover · 01/04/2008 14:35

We've just got a VAX - it is a pull along but I'm sure they do uprights. It's fab. Has brushes so it gets carpets really clean and also has a hard floor attachment for wood etc.

Love it so much I even hoover nearly every week instead of every month!!

choccypig · 01/04/2008 14:37

But how do you get the dirt OUT of the bagless jobs?

I'd like a hoover that doesn't fall over when I stretch out the hose.

And one that pushes itself around of course.

helpmaboab · 01/04/2008 14:42

I am sooo with you on Dyson! I hate mine with an absolute passion - its build quality is terrible and it just doesn't hoover very well... I'm stuck with mine for the time being but my next hoover will be a miele I think - not sure if any of them meet all of your speicfiations but they always seem to get excellent write ups/'Which' reviews etc

laundrylover · 01/04/2008 14:43

I tip it into the wheelie bin...but I do have to poke around with a twig for some bits as have a new carpet that is shedding like mad!

miele are supposed to be brill - I have a dyson at the mo and have never really had any major trouble with it....

LarryVeestAdamAntSpawnChorus · 01/04/2008 14:49

Why do you need it to be bagless? If you can get round that, go for a Miele - they are the best.

Dysons really are crap, aren't they.

LarryVeestAdamAntSpawnChorus · 01/04/2008 14:50

x-posts with Fred. Do they have bagless Miele's nowadays?

pedilia · 01/04/2008 14:51

I have a dyson and also think it is rubbish, it is always losing suction which I'm sure they claim they never do

dylsmum1998 · 01/04/2008 14:52

i have a vax at the mo and its very good, mine was a cheap one £55 or there abouts, so doesnt have all the fetures you are after, but i'm sure they have one that does

My VAX was half price in Tesco. Nice colour too if taht matters!

Used to have Dysons but like this better.

iloatheironing · 01/04/2008 15:10

I too have a vax.. I think probably same one as laundrylover. After 2 dysons.. had a cylinder type first which caught fire so tried an upright which the belt kept coming off a least twice per use and was an absolute pig to get back on... On top of that my vax is twice as good for half the price... Best cleaner I had was a very cheap hitatchi that I only stopped using cause I couldn't find bags for it anywhere.

I have had a VAX upright one, it was the noisest hoover i have had, ds was petrified of it, after a while it lost it's suction.

I have a Dyson (thanks to the comp) & quite honestly you won't get one with any better suction!

Have you spoken to camila from Dyson she is fab maybe she can help with your problems?

I'm not sure who Camilla is, but I suspect she should be first up against the wall when the revolution comes.

weasle · 01/04/2008 20:47

I love my Henry, but that is a pull along, not upright. It was a revelation after 2 rubbish Dysons. I thought that was as good as vacuum cleaners got. DS1 loves the henry too - we've had to buy him a toy one.

ScoobyDoo · 01/04/2008 20:48

Camilla from Dyson is the lady who ran the competition from Dyson HQ

pattymc · 01/04/2008 20:55

Miele is brilliant.have had 2 dysons, one inherited and then bought another when that broke, I don't know why but I did. anyway they were both crap.
my miele is brilliant
