Help me find some good quality not too expensive and durable towels for day to day use

So our current ones are 15 years old and the dryer has shredded them. I have been putting off getting new ones but they are now on their last leg. There were from John Lewis. Can anyone recommend some really durable nice looking towels - we need quite a few as there are 6 of us in this house. Thank you

Does anyone else have problems with towels being shredded in the dryer. Both the towels (John Lewis) and the Dryer (Bosch) are good brands so feel a bit miffed but it may be just that the towels are very old!

If you’re a member… Costco towels are absolutely brilliant, wash so well

Seriously, I had a leaking conservatory just before Christmas and we put loads of towels on a waterproof layer. It was a problem as we really culled our towels when moving late last year.

We actually did not have very many towels at all. I went to asda and bought 10 bath sheets. They were actually on offer, but I cannot remember what now. I would have paid twice the full price!

Nobody will use the proper bathroom towels (John lewis). They like the asda ones. Partly on colour, as I bought random stuff they had in a wee asda and people have picked colours but also on feel.

Our normal towels were white, but I think I will only have minimal white for decorative purposes going forward. My family appear to like being colour coded and the asda bath towels are cheap and are lasting well.

Dunelm

I’m really impressed with the ones we have from Sainsbury’s. We’ve had them five years and they look like new. I sometimes tumble dry them in the winter with no damage.

Tesco Supersoft Cotton.

Took weeks of trial and error to find the perfect towel. This is it.

The first month was horrific - they shed a lot of fluff. But now they have calmed down they are wonderful.

B and M are the best value and best quality I have found. Closely followed by Asda but the Egyptian Cotton ones, not the super cheap ones.

I'd say buy the John Lewis ones again if they've lasted 15 years and only just started shredding them, it probably not the dryer, it's probably the age of them.
Apparently you are supposed to change them every three years as they stop getting clean before some bacteria stays behind.
After 15 years I'd say you have well had your moneys worth.

Definitely Dunelm. We got four of the biggest ones they do and DH grumbles they are too big, but he’s wrong. It’s like a spa getting out of a bath with them!

You need to leave a review on them as the 3 on the website are poor.

These Egyptian cotton towels from Marks & Spencer's are really great.

I agree with the previous post who said Asda towels are good budget towels but now that I have those M&S ones I'm going to replace all my towels with them.
