Hi,
First time posting on here so please be kind!

To cut a long story short, I was diagnosed with breast cancer 18 months ago. My partner has been amazing throughout my treatment and has held everything together while I’ve been in and out of hospital etc. I am nearing the end of treatment now but my tiredness has reached peak levels due to the amount of chemo I have now had. I do what I can I home but I am ready struggling keeping on top of the laundry mainly as this requires so many steps rather than just being one job to tick off.
I don’t want to leave this to my partner too as he works two jobs and has been doing most other things around the house.

Could anyone recommend any services / agencies that could help with this? I know it’s not something that a cleaner would generally do.

Feeling really guilty that I can’t get on top of it with my exhaustion.

TIA

Our cleaner does laundry, ironic etc. I don’t think it’s particularly unusual?

I think a cleaner can do laundry, just discuss with them and obviously you'll pay more for the extra time. Also do consider reviewing laundry, I'm always amazed how often some people wash things (obviously apart from daily changes like underwear and socks).

Try launderettes if you have any within a few miles. Some offer a pick up and delivery service.

If not I would try the cleaner/housekeeper role. No harm in asking. Housekeepers do all sorts of bits and bobs that fall outside the usual remit of cleaning... but so do some cleaners too! I hope you find something.

Sorry to hear what you are going though @RetroRainbow. This charity might be able to help offer financial support for you to find the help you need. Or they may help you find one. Give them a call to see how they can help yestolife.org.uk/impact-report-2022-2023/
Hope that helps x
