I always wash mine by hand as we don't have a dishwasher. DH enjoys washing up 😀. With wine glasses, I have to wash them thoroughly with the Fairy liquid and sponge, rinse them well and let them dry naturally to avoid any marks. Still, sometimes I take them out of the kitchen cupboard after a while and they don't look clean and I have to wash them again before use... Have to use them regularly for them not to get dirty 🍷.

I’ve started washing mine by hand, all my glasses in fact, irs very quick to do and always come out better than the dishwasher.

Wash them and dry them. Hold them over the spout of a boiling kettle and polish with a t-towel. That’s what they do in all the best hotels.

By hand, very hot water + washing up liquid, always wash glasses first before doing anything else, then rinse the bubbles out with clean water and stand the glasses upside down on the draining board. Dry with a clean tea towel.

Mine come out sparkling.

Best I ever got was dip in bicarb water, wash in detergent and rinse in vinegar water. Dry with a linen cloth.

Sparkling.

No, they go in the dishwasher like everything else, come out sparkling and don't suffer any long term effects. We have glasses that have been in hundreds of times and are still like new. I wouldn't use anything that needs washing by hand.

This. I had a student job in a hotel and after a function, we'd all stand around a wine cooler filled with boiling water steaming and polishing the glassware.

DH does a terrible job of washing wine glasses - they are always smeary.

You need to hand wash them with water as hot as you can bear, then dry them and then polish/ dry them with a really soft tea towel.

TheFlis · 23/08/2024 08:24

I always rinse with hot water and dry straight away, we have very hard water so they go streaky if left to dry naturally.

FuckThePoPo · 23/08/2024 08:25

I came on to say about very hot water but got beaten-a relative showed me this donkeys ago and it's the best method I e found
