today my house is clean and tidy and very pleasent to be in.

but all too often its such a pit and its horrible to be here.

i dont like housework but i like a tidy house.

ideally i need to do each room properly at least once a week as well as the kitchen daily.

what do other people do?

i tried flylady but didnt really like it.

...my mum did this, she just worked it our herself, she from the generation that did the washing on a monday and no housework on sunday! Welsh baptists, eh?!
Beds every 2 weeks, empty bins the day before bin men come, that sort of thing.

lol

I do what you do:

clean up every so often

think how nice it is

decide to do it more often

make a plan

ignore the plan

wade around knee deep in broken toys

clean up every so often

think how......

hope someone more use comes along soon!

Misdee: I'm not going to make a fool of myself by trying to do a link again, but have a look in the Good Housekeeping topic. There is a current thread (today, I think) where people describe their housework routines. It'll make your hair curl, it really will!

Well daily the kitchen needs cleaning and wiping round.

Have a bathroom cleaner and cloth in the loo so you can wipe round the sink and toilet every day too. Whack a bit of bleach in as well.

Put things on the stairs to go up and make it a rule that no one can go upstairs without taking something with them and putting it away.

and in addition

Monday - washing and hoovering throughout
Tuesday - kitchen again and toilets
Wednesday - ironing and dusting
Thursday - washing and hoovering
Friday - shopping

I dont really bother at the weekend as we are all at home and it just gets untidy again. I let it go at the weekends and start again on Monday!
