Does your microwave make a high pitched noise?

Doubt anyone is still up but if you are, does your microwave make a high pitched noise when it’s just plugged in but not “on”?

I got a new one today and it’s driving me mad. That type of noise that’s quiet but you can hear from across the room. Maybe all new ones make this noise? Will I have to buy several to find one that won’t drive me crazy?

Mine does. It's horrendous. I keep it switched off at the socket unless it's being used.

Hm maybe I will send it back then as I’m also not happy with the look of it compared to the picture. Who knew microwaves could be such a minefield 😅
