Can you have an undermounted sink with a laminate worktop ?

I have seen most undermounted sinks in kitchens with granite workstops which then have the groves in them for draining.

I have seen a sink and separate drainer that can be undermounted - would that be OK with a laminate worktop.

thanks

So long as they are well sealed with mastic it'll be fine.

wont work very well because of the hole cut in leaving the exposed chip board which wilolthen need tobe taped with edging and iut will peel off and let water in

I would think it'd be a total disaster.

You only need a tiny bit of water to get in for laminated worktops to bubble and split

my suspicion was that it wouldn't work

I think I just wanted someone to say - YES IT WILL BE FINE !

Ther are some very nice laminated about nowadays .

You can, taking off all the chipboard around the sink whole as wide as the sink frame, that way the sink is in contact only with the thin laminate surface. Use 2 components epoxy adhesive between laminate and sink frame. The gap must be secured with timber around the sink underneath. A good joiner or expert diyer can do that. I have made it for my laundry using cheap laminate worktop and stainless steel undermount square sink and I'm very happy with it

It will be a disaster with normal laminate worktop. You could get compact laminate and then an undermount sink is doable. You can have grooves etc... cut in compact laminate.

Why do you want an undermounted sink? Not being goady, I moved into a house with one, and hate it with a passion. It's also cuboid, so has bloody corners, so difficult to clean. I really want to rip it out.
