How to clean hi-vis vests

DH has to wear hi-vis vests at work. Running them through the machine doesn't get them very clean. Does anyone know how to get them completely clean?

You are kind of wasting your time. They are only supposed to be washed X amount of times, you cant use any brightening agents ( check your soap powder ) , they get dirty and stained. DH wears his till they cant be washed anymore then binned. I only ever run them through a cool wash
