Cleaning skirting boards

Dull I know, but does anyone have a gadget for cleaning skirting boards? Ours are dust collectors and the hoover doesn't quite get in all the grooves.

The only thing that gets them clean is a hand on knees job.

I just use the brush attachment for the hoover

I tend to use a damp cloth. They never look great, modern white paints go cream too soon.

Hoover first, then get in the corners with your hands. I quite like doing this as you get a good look at every inch of your house. I like weekends doing stuff like this, a few times a year, around the place bit by bit.

Children! I give mine a wet cloth and they compete to see who can get the dirtiest cloth by running it over the skirting boards 🤣

I bought something several weeks back I will see If I can find it

I do mine with a clean string mop and really hot water.

The kids do them with baby wipes!

I use my dream cleaner, gets into all of the cracks, pushing the dirt out, then wipe with a cloth.

They are 4 and 2 and find it hilarious....I don't even need to ask them now, they just go and do it 🤣

I use a broom and go around the skirting and the edge of the carpet where the hoover doesn't reach properly before I hoover.

Anything that's not just dust and is still there after the broom, I use a wet cloth.

I've seen one of these, is it worth it?

You stopped me thinking about it and I just got down and did it. It does look better. Trouble is, cleaning the skirting I saw finger marks on the walls, then spotted the dust behind the radiator, mud splashes on the doors...it's never ending.

I get around the issue by not looking at them too closely. 😂
