BiancaCastafiore · 27/03/2008 12:03

Pooo-eeee! The farmers have been muck-spreading, it stinks outside!
I was going to hang some washing out but have changed my mind.

DontDreamItBeIt · 27/03/2008 12:17

Well my friend came round to use my computer this morning, so I've been child entertaining, with not much flying (Her ds and mine fight all the time so I need to be there distracing them.

TMH - I thought as much from what you said before...don't tell the dr you'll cope if you have to...really lay it o thick and tell him how hard it is making things for you. If he can't do anything else he might at least chase your referral quicker.

I'm slightly at the prospect of you all getting a life post children. I also have no childcare, dp is very anti using nursery and childminders, so anything I do has to fit round school and a two yr old. I have a vague idea of getting a school based job once ds starts. (I'm sure no other mums have thought of that one)
LOL @ Ruby's reommended job

Let me have a look at my list....

Morning
4 Wash up/shine sink
5 Wipe table/high chair
6 Clear surfaces
8 What's for tea? done
9 Sweep the kitchen floor done
10 Swish and swipe
Afternoon
11 15 min declutter
12 mission
13 Where's the washing?
14 2 min hotspot
Thursday
Mop floor
30 mins kids room
Clean wheelie bin done
Bathroom
Sort out dps clothes

Oh dear. I need to get moving.

scattyspice · 27/03/2008 12:56

Morning all!

Done the morning routine (its getting easier). I think DS is getting slightly better at getting dressed without prompts (nags) and DD is getting used to me doing things rather than just sitting with her. If the morning routine gets done, it frees up time after school to spend with DCs.

Jas I did last nights dishes this am also.
Dyls your course sounds interesting, does it help make sense pf parenting?
GS Poor you, what a day yesterday! Days have a habbit of spiralling out of control for me too (usually just after I've noticed how well things are going).
FGS I couldn't get away with the pill either, DH said I became psycopathic .
RR Good for you. May be you can start by reading up on something you are interested in that you can pursue when your LO goes to pre school.
Bianca Fat face is fab!

Must go to shops after school then help with DS homework and shift the furniture.
Don't need to do the mission as DD has cleared out most of my jewlery !

DontDreamItBeIt · 27/03/2008 13:30

Scatty - My dd2 has finally got her act together, and has come downstairs already dressed for school every day this week It has only taken 3 1/2 years of me shouting at her every morning, too!
Morning
4 Wash up/shine sink done
5 Wipe table/high chair done
6 Clear surfaces done
10 Swish and swipe done
Afternoon
11 15 min declutter
12 mission
13 Where's the washing? 2nd load on the line
14 2 min hotspot
Thursday
Mop floor done
30 mins kids room
Bathroom done
Sort out dps clothes done

I'm makng progress....at least my morning list is all ticked off now!

TheMadHouse · 27/03/2008 13:36

Afternoon

All the shopping is done and away, DS2 is napping and DS1 at preschool.

Bianca Fat facve is cool, although I am not buying for myself untill I have my new bod - it reminded me that I ordered some stuff online in the sale for DH and the mini's

FGS I used to have unbelievably heavy periods 0 the mirina coil was designed to stop them and as a contrecption secondary ony, so it should be ideal for you - get the doctor to discuss www.womens-health.co.uk/mirena.asp

Jas If things are no better next week I will

MWW Good news re the MOT

Luda and Ruby I know exactly what you mean too. I keep thinking that it is only till DS2 is in school (another 2-3 years), but I would love more time to myself - no money either. I am hoping that the lighter nights make me more motivated.

Waves to BabyJ et all that I have missed

3NAB · 27/03/2008 13:38

I have done some jobs but want to chill.

My thumb and finger is hurting as I can't rest it.

Hoping normal flying service will be resumed very soon.

dylsmum1998 · 27/03/2008 14:15

Afternoon everyone. well i got round my friend coming by taking her out she came over to go to baby clinic with me as her hv tols her ds2 was too big! so she came to mine as has a lovely hv, was fascinated that they the same height. my hv said had hers checked his height she would see actually his weight is fine as he is so tall for his age. we then decided as neitherof them are too heavy we could have a mcdonalds and went shopping afterwards .
so manic tidying for nothing lol must say it does look better in here for it tho.
have perfect excuse for no flying today, dd fell asleep in car on way home, andis now in bed so cant do my mission!
scatty course is very interesting, it does help understand funny quirks that dc do, like dd suddenly turning fussy after eating anything as baby, is appaernetly as they don't have all their taste buds developed as babies, they only have sweet or sour, so when the others kick in around 2, they suddenly go off foods they loved before! not just cos they awkward annoying toddlers .
I'm really enjoying the course, its very hard goind with the dc tho constantly feel guilty for leaving them, esp as i never left ds with anyone before but dd was not quite 18 months when she started with cm. I must admt to feeling lots of guilt over that, when that ugly monster rears its head i have jump on it hard look how much fun she has there etc etc. i guess the same as anyone who works outside the home

OP posts:
Ludaloo · 27/03/2008 15:17

Dylsmum it is really hard leaving them, but don't feel too bad, as long as they are happy you don't need to worry

Well house is reletively tidy. Haven't really done that much, just tried to tidy as I went along really.
Still have to vac.

Went for a nice walk to the Abbey today, nice to actually get out! Kids didn't moan too much either thankfully.
They are all very quiet upstairs which is normally a bad sign!

Shall go and investigate now....

FunkyGoldStar · 27/03/2008 15:46

I mopped downstairs today . It is the job I hate most...

Grouchyoscar · 27/03/2008 16:38

Hello

Been to a Policy and Proceedures meeting for work this morning. MIL had Ed. Went to next town, retreived my stick, went to the market, got some clothes for Ed and me from the charity shops and home by bus. Ed behaved beautifully, was polite to the butcher and helped the greengrocer and of all the things he could pick from the stalls as a snack he chose an apple [bless him]

Jas the IKEA atlas has gone . I will live and learn. but I got him a children's atlas fot £1 from Sue Ryder so all is OK

TMH do you have a hormonal coil or a copper one? I had a copper one fitted 3 mths after Ed was born, a med student observed (hey, I'd just had a baby, open season here!) and the GP said to the student 'and that's the easiest you'll ever see that proceedure performed' I sat up and said 'What you trying to say like?' Cheeky bloke.

Ruby That sounds like my life. DH is lovely but I am very much a single parent. I get very little support from family too, there are times I feel very much alone. I found that doing a couple of courses got me a job in childcare and I am able to put in a few hours here and there while Ed is at school. Makes me feel a hell of a lot better and I can use the cash for 'family' things. See what courses your local children's centre etc may offer.

Oooh I'm prattling, it's just good to 'speak' to adults, sorry

Going to cover some cardboard boxes with funky wrapping paper so Ed can have some groovy storage

TheMadHouse · 27/03/2008 16:44

Afternoon

I am just preparing tea, so thought I would update.

DS2 has had his MMR and Pneunococcal we were waiting for over an hour - so I had to go and collect DS1 from preschool and go back, which meant we missed out place.

I left my house key at my mums, but had forgot to lock the back door so we managed to get in.

GO I have a minera coil (not copper), but the doctor was great at fitting it. Both my boys were born by section - LOL

dylsmum1998 · 27/03/2008 16:57

luda i know your right, i had got used to that she goes to cm, she waved me bye and laughed etc before she got poorly. then with 3 weeks off poorly its like starting all over again for us both, was just like leaving her for the first time again yesterday, couple of weeks and she'll settle back into the routine.
GO cheeky whatnot, just to make you feel better bout your after baby body!
TMH dont you love when doctors run late, its such a lovely place to have to sit with children waitin forever! glad you managed to get into your house

OP posts:
Grouchyoscar · 27/03/2008 17:07

Yeah Dlysmum it did make me feel like I was Mrs Bucket Gusset

DontDreamItBeIt · 27/03/2008 17:10

I have a copper coil. I'm the only person I know who has had one before children Never had problems with it at all.
The is anecdotal evidence (ie a few posters on here) tha mooncups actully help with very heavy periods...

*GO your post about speaking to grown ups made me . I feel the same...

I'm sulking at the moment. I've just got back from taking the children to the dentist for a check. They are all fine but I have a huge hole in my back tooth
I have to go back tomorrow to get it filled, as I didn't want it doe while the children were there.

FunkyGoldStar · 27/03/2008 17:34

I have a mooncup. It really helps with reducing the pain. Doesnt reduce the flow though (sorry if tmi)

TheMadHouse · 27/03/2008 18:23

I need to keep my coil in even after my ovaries and tubes are removed, as it means I need to take less H|RT

Boys are bathed and having daddy time - phew I am shattered

I have managed to get the ironing done
Make their beds
get their clothes out for tomorrow
feed them
bath them
PJs on
admit to DH I left the back door unlocked

Need to:

Have bath
Made banana bread (loads of them left this week)
and relax..................

Ludaloo · 27/03/2008 18:32

Hello

Jas ooch hope your filling goes ok [faint emoticon!]

Dylsmum I had terrible problems leaving my DS at nursery...he would cry and cry, and it got to the point he would cry before we even got there! really awful.
Since starting school he has got a lot better, he still has his moments, and I have to leave him in tears, but generally he is a lot better now
They do get used to it, but like you say, after a holiday or ilness they go a bit wobbly again!

I have tried every type of contraception known to man...and non of them particularly suit me!
Can't take the pill because of my migraines
Can't have a coil because they always come out! (3 in total have been expelled....super muscely cervix ejects them!)
LOL Not literally! over time I mean....

I'm on the injection hormone at the moment...not ideal as it still makes me pig out..and have mood swings, but its all I can do really...not brave enough to have the tubes tied...

dylsmum1998 · 27/03/2008 18:37

Dream thats good your childrens teeth are all ok, i know how you feel about your back tooth i had to have a massive filling in my back tooth before christmas, you do get strange looks if you pop to the shops immediately after having it done and you can't talk properly as still waiting for anaesthetic to wear off . I've always gone to dentist regularly, when i moved i changed dentists and she was shocked that last dentist didn't pick up on it- his last check up he told me they were perfect no probs at all!
TMH how did hubby take the news that you forgot to lock the door?

I have done fly mission stopped making excuses and throughout a couple of hand fuls of old crap jewellery that is no good. need to get some silver cleaner for most of my jewellery its all discoloured and doesnt look silver anymore!

OP posts:
dylsmum1998 · 27/03/2008 18:41

luda crossed posts
lol i'm having rather amusing visions of self removing coils!!
coil was what i was considering after having dd, but then i split from dad and well contraception isnt the most needed thing right now
injections dont suit me and i forget the pill regulsrly, not sure what other options there are other than flying coil oh well when i remember how to do what you need contraception for I'll go visit docs

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 27/03/2008 18:44

Dyls He was remarkably calm and said that it is not the first time, but he always checks and he didnt want to bring it up with me, as I have enought to think about.

Sometimes he makes me wonder with marvel - how did I manage to get this man all those years ago and TBH is is just getting better with age.

Jas Dentists still care me we are going one and all in April and I need to have my filling redone. I am currently fending off the pain with tablets

Evening all.
I am very tired again. It has been a very long day!
I have walked miles and stripped off top half too many times and still only found one top i thought was ok.
I wish i had a fat face shop here. Love their stuff.

Another one with Mirena here too. Had no probs with it. Probably due a check up actually,

Grouchyoscar · 27/03/2008 21:03

Hello again FLYladies

Didn't get to cover the boxes, I noticed that the house was minging so I swept and vacced downstairs. Then I made tea, a huge veg gratin cleaned the worksurfaces, shined the sink, load DW and run, Clean hob have tea Empty DW, put away, reload DW and run again. Wash Ed and he's snoring away at the side of me.

I'm feeling a hell of a lot better, physically and in myself. DH is busy at the office so I'm having more scope to get things done and play a part of family life.

Might take Ed to the library in the next town. They are having a kids thing in the morning, then I might take him for lunch. Or I might cover the boxes instead.
