play pen or something - any advice?

Dd is nine and a half months and just about to take off. Any recommendations for a play pen or something like that that's big and fab enough so I don't feel guilty plonking her in it when I'm working (in the same room on the computer, I should probably add!)

I had a babydan playpen that I used for ds1, it was very useful when I was making dinner etc, wouldn't want to leave him in it for too long though.
but it can be used as a room divider as well, if you join it to the walls, so you could cordone off a bigger area of room for her

I use travel cot as they fold out of reach when don't want them and quick to put up and down. My son is 19mths and still likes to play in there as he enjoys security of it, he seems to like being in small spaces and means I can attempt to do housework etc without feelin guilty

I have a babydan but DD learned to escape it at 9 months .

Now we just make the entire room safe and let her romp around. Stairgates on the doorways etc.

But you will feel guilty anyway, it's what mothers do

Mine went apopleptic if even taken in proximity of playpen.

I found it best to make ground floor of house as babyproof as possible, and leave them to it

I use a large Graco travel cot - DS screams blue murder when he is plonked in there at first but will then play happily for quite a while I pay the bills/load the dishwasher/read Heat magazine (kidding).

At first I filled it with toys but realised part of the crying was to do with being plonked in a small space with loads going on. Now I find it better to put just a few toys in and change them frequently.

Had the same problem with the Babydan - DS learnt to escape it. The Graco is still beyond his means of escape and he is an active, walking, climbing little monkey poppet.
