Evening ALL Ruby Glad the course went well (and glad it was what I expected, means I was paying attention) Found out this afternoon that I have a policy and proceedures review at 9 tomorrow
Ah, this afternoon, well, it went downhill from there really. OK I picked up 'Not Now, Bernard' for 30p and an elderly Spanish lady was saying what a sweet and lovely boy Ed was but...things went downhill slowly but surely. Toysaurus was strangely easy, he accepted the 'no weapons' rule and I escaped with only spending £4 on a Lego kit but I paid for it at (Big deep breath) IKEA. Got him in the creche, picked the table, got an atlas, got the storage drawers, picked him up and the hot dog meltdown started. Collected the table, got the dog and the hot choc and CHAOS
I warn Ed not to put anything on the wobbly table as it will fall off, then I notice my walking stick was missing! Telling Ed to stay put I quickly retraced my steps and located it at the checkout. I return to find not only has he put the chocolate on the wobbly table but it wobbled and dumped cup of HC into the bag of shopping and all over his coat that he'd put in there!
I swab everything down with blue kitchen roll swiped from the bistro and save the atlas while he attempts to bum drinks off the next family So I hastly leave and...leave the bally atlas. Only find out about this after I find out I've left my stick in the cab as Ed was too busy piling out to see the next door neighbour's son's lover to let me gather myself and a table etc
Tricky end to a long day only helped by making dinner (spaced us out for a bit) DH's tiramisu and 1/2 a bottle of Merlot.
Table up and will do just the job I wanted it for [Relief emoticon] Have to call tomorrow AM to see if Atlas has been handed in
Hope your days were less stressful.
Tomorrow I got to the meeting, call IKEA collect Ed, pop to the market (butcher has promised a free range chicken) and keep Ed away from polite society
