White residue in plastic

I’m assuming it’s dishwasher tablet. Anyone know an easy way to get rid? I’ve tried soaking in vinegar, bicarbonate, fairy liquid, elbow grease, pink stuff and it doesn’t shift. I can scrape it off but I have loads of containers so looking for an easy solution please!

If it was dishwasher tablet surely it would dissolve?
I’ve only ever had that sort of white on plastic when I’ve heated stuff too long in the microwave tbh. Are you putting them on the top rack in the dishwasher or wherever your model says they need to go? (Mine says plastics have to go on the top).

I assumed it’s the dishwasher tablet because I can scrape it off. Yes I put it on the top rack.

Mine does this too!
Only on plastic.
I presume it could be the dishwasher tablets as usually I use the Finish brand but I had to get Fairy this time round and that's when it started.

I use fairy on an eco wash and have never had this at all. Very odd. I’d probably stick to washing the plastics by hand if it did this, far too much hard work to have to scrape it off.

I might try the eco wash and see if that helps. It's almost like timescale-ish.

I usually do wash plastics by hand but I went through a meal prep phase and cooked food that stained- soups, curries, bolognese, etc so just put them in the dishwasher.

I agree with PP, that it's from being melted in the microwave, not the dishwasher.
