Does this lasagne sauce look ok???

I followed the recipe but instead of using 800g of chopped tomatoes, I used 800g of jarred bolognese sauce which I think has more liquid.

I've just finishing making it and the recipe says to simmer for an hour.

Will the excess water cook off? I've put a lid on the saucepan but "ajar" so that the liquid can steam off hopefully.

Advice???

I’m sure it’ll be fine but I’d let it simmer without the lid for a little while until it reduces down to a better consistency. If it goes too far you can add a bit of water.

@Talipesmum Thankyou okay I'll do that. Just gave it a stir and it seems to be thickening up.

just let it cook down with the lid off. imo that's a bit watery for lasange it would just be "sludgy" but it will cook down.

I’d take the lid off. Don’t boil it hard, but you might want it to simmer for longer than an hour.
