What is the best way to clean a solid pine bedside table and bed frame?

I usually wipe dust off with a dry microfibre cloth (or vacuum it with brush attachment) and then use a diluted general purpose cleaner with a J cloth and dry it off with a clean microfibre cloth. However I notice it smells faintly (a sort of dirty cleaning water smell) and having just googled apparently you aren't meant to use all purpose cleaners on pine.

I wondered if something like the Method wood polish spray (not the wood floor cleaner) might be any good? Although I find some of their other cleaners a bit overpoweringly perfumed. Or any other suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't be using water on wood, just dust and if need be a polish

Leave it to dry out, just dust, then after a few weeks use a polish. Either a propriety spray polish or get the beeswax out
