Help! Burnt a hole in temper mattress

I can't believe I have managed to do this with my hairdryer. We only bought the mattress 3 months ago, and it's a temper elite. Our first decent mattress. I've emailed temper about a replacement cover. The foam is slightly burnt too, but with a new cover should be fine.

I can't find anything about replacement covers online. Has anyone ever done similar? Could I patch it? I've currently cut all the plastic sharp melty bits out, put a cloth over it and put the mattress protector and fitted sheet on. I can't tell my husband, he will be so disappointed

Don’t tell him.

@Icouldbehappy I feel like I need to, as I hate holding secrets. But I don't think any good will come of it. I'll try to wait until I've heard from temper, at least

It doesn't look that bad, your husband isn't going to care. Even if you can't get a new cover, you haven't lost any of its function. You'll only notice it when you change the sheets.

Edit - the brand is Tempur, might help you find a new cover.

Might look unsightly but has no bearing on functionality, not really a big deal

I'm worried it's going to rip further, or dip in that area. I feel so stupid!

I really wouldn't worry about it! You could stitch or fabric glue a patch over it if it bothers you (as it clearly does!) or maybe your home insurance would cover it if tempur think it might affect use.

Just tell your DH, you'll feel better. He'll see it at some point when he changes the sheets or whatever surely? Unless he's an arsehole he can't be that cross for an accident.

Doesn't the top bit zip off? You could just contact them for a new top bit.

I'd be more worried how a mattress melted so easily. Surly that can't be safe. Email them and ask about the safety guidelines for fire resistance.
