Hello, just a quick, do you make your maids responsible for laundry? Do you pay additionaly for that? My maid (actually it is a male maid) is doing all laundry for me and my family, also handwashing my delicates. My expat friend is paying extra for that, how it is in your case?

The sad thing is people like this de exist in Britain. I've nannied for a family who had a housekeeper who did literally everything including cleaning dirty knickers off the parent's bedroom floor and washing (with a machine though). I had the same role for their kids and I expect they are not embarrassed by others seeing their dirty underwear because it's always been someone else's job that's how they grew up it's not weird to them.

I had someone do laundry for me when I lived abroad in a country where there weren't washing machines. It was normal.
In the UK it would be weird. We have a cleaner and she changes the bedding and puts the used bedding next to the washing machine for me to wash.
I have heard of Nannie's doing children's laundry but I wouldn't expect ours to, at most I would ask her to remind the kids to put their own dirty clothes in the wash.

I recommend M&S for pants. You can chuck in at 40, tumble dry and save the maid the bother of scrubbing your gussets
