Pleeeese! Could someone help us? My dd2 who is nearly 2 and a half has had this nasty gastric condition that's going around and soiled her cot matress. (The not-so-solid and indescribe-able contents of her nappy had leaked through the PJ,Glo-baf,a protector into the matress...) I tried wiping it with disinfectant and air it off but I am not convinced at all that it's enough. There's a lingering smell every time I walk into her room. As she is our last child we would not hope to buy another matress. Please, any suggestion welcome.

I would scrub with a bristle brush, using fairy liquid in hot water, or a biological washing tablet dissolved.

Spray with fabreeze and leave the whole thing against a radiator to dry.

I used to use cheapo shower curtains cut to size as mattress protectors. they are really effective and don't rustle as much as you might think!
