Bin bags that fit outside bins

Yes, a very boring thread!

I can't find reasonably priced black bin bags for our outside bins.

I thought our bins were pretty standard - you know, the ones with lids and you put a black bin back / black sack into the bin and fill it throughout the week.

I shop in Aldi but even their 100L bags aren't big enough. It's the circumference I'm struggling with and not the depth.

I've tried Tesco but have the same problem with their sacks.

Why is it so difficult? I have 3 different style of bin out there and the black sacks don't fit in any of them.

Any recommendations?

The idea is you have a smaller kitchen bin indoors and take that out to the outside bin when it's full. Or am I misunderstanding you? You can get wheelie bin bags but they're a bit shit.

Wheelie bin liners. They may be slightly too big, but better that than too small.

Why would you do this ?? Maybe different as I am v rural but we just put our black bags in an unlined bin and they collect.. we don't line out bins - just blast them with the hose pipe and bleach a couple of times a year. !

If you have a Costco nearby and you or someone you know has a membership, we use their extra strong liners for our outside bins. I call them body bags, they're massive 😂

Yes, exactly that. We use the outside bin for anything stinky (nappies) and on rubbish collection day, everything goes into a black bin bag and put out for collection. We don't have wheelie bins here unfortunately and we have to supply our own bin bags.

Edited

I'm thinking this might be my only option.

Thank you. I will get some. I don't have a membership myself but know a man who knows a man 😁

Home bargains do huge bun bags, great quality, and really reasonably priced, about £4 for 20.

Ah you mean you have a traditional dustbin?

We would just tie the kitchen bin bag up and deposit it in the dustbin when we still had those and they insisted we put the bags out on the street ourselves.

Not sure what problem you are actually trying to solve. Those bins are approx 250-350 litres though so maybe have a look for something of that volume?

Beast bin bags are very good

WutheringMights · 30/01/2024 05:17

@Ginandjuice57884 that's it - a traditional dustbin. The black bags I'm buying no longer fit the circumference of the bin so the bag won't lap over the top to hold in place.

These ones always used to fit. They even have a picture of a dustbin on the packaging but the sizing has changed recently and they come up longer but more narrow.

I'll take a look at the wheelie bin size instead. They've got to fit!

Oh thank you, I'll pop in there at the weekend!
