Mop and lightweight vacuum recommendations

We are currently living in a 1 bed flat and are soon going to be moving in to a 3 bed house. At the moment we have a corded shark vacuum cleaner which is great but I fear it’ll be too heavy to lug about the house a couple times a week.

We will of course keep it and probably keep it upstairs which is all carpeted (except bathrooms of course) and use it there and on the stairs once a week or so. Downstairs is all hard flooring, we were thinking of getting a lightweight handheld hoover and a good old fashioned sweeping brush. Would this be a good idea and easy to keep on top of?

At the minute we use a speed mop which is fine for the kitchen and bathroom in the flat but with lots of hard floors in the new house we would like a really good mop recommendation please!

Also happy to receive any other tips for keeping on top of the cleaning in a bigger home than we are used to!

I find the Powerglide automatic hard floor cleaner great, and very light and easy to use on hard floors (I have arm problems).

I combine that with a robot vacuum (mine is a Neato as I wanted the D-shape and the rotating side brushes, and I got a v good discount on amazon at one point, think I have the D6 but it still works fine despite newer versions available).

I then use a handheld little vacuum to do random corners and spills and places where the robot hoover doesn't reach.

I'm 60 with shoulder injuries and I carry the shark up and down the stairs no bother . I have the lift away and I just separate it. Having both a dog and cat, a broom or a swifter type just doesn't hack it

As for mops, once a week I use my shark steam mop. for quick and smaller mop ups I use a flash speed mop, to use one to do my whole kitchen takes 6 cloths - big kitchen - but its grand to do the floor around the prep counter

Can't help on the lightweight vac but we have a Shark steam mop for the tiled floors and it's excellent.
