Cleaning bathroom tile grout

What's the best way to clean it. I have scrubbed it with normal cleaner but that doesn't work.

Also what can you do about the mold that you get round the shower?

Dettol do a mould and mildew spray - big green bottle. Smells a bit and oyu ahve to leave it on overnight for great results, but works.

Grout: using a toothbrush, scrub at it using Viakal (or some other remover of calcium deposits), leave for 10 minutes and rinse. If that hasn't worked well enough, scrub again using bleach.

Apparently you get bicarbonate of soda, mix it into a paste with some clear vinegar (as in not malt) and toothbrush it into the grout. Leave for 10 mins then rinse off.... I STILL keep forgetting to buy bicarb in the supermarket so am yet to try it...

Don't quote me if it all goes pear shaped though!!!

I do the grout behind my kitchen sink with bleach and a toothbrush. Tis not mouldy, just gets grubby.

another vote for neat bleach and a toothbrush

I think borax works (you can get from boots). Make a paste and then scrub it in with an old toothpaste. I remember reading somewhere that you can make a spray with something, maybe borax, which stops mould in the future..... but haven't tried that.

Alternatively, I understand bleach does the job too - but we have a septic tank and strong chemicals make me feel ill, so I haven't tried that either.
