I'm after a decent food processor around the 150 pound price. The magimix motor has burnt out and new model is nearly 300 pounds....so looking for alternatives

I have had my ninja food processor for 6 years now and it’s still going strong. I love it and use it daily.

Another Ninja fan here I used to have a Morphy Richard's which I loved but the Ninja is great.

I have a Kenwood

This is my 2nd model and it is very good

Does the ninja puree and make things like pesto and hummus

Lots of Magimix Food processors reduced in my local John Lewis atm - think they're open box but not looked too closely. Do still have full 30 year motor warranty though.
Maybe worth looking in your local JL.

Also worth looking on Amazon Warehouse Deals for open box ones.
Currently is 4200XL Cream or Red for £218!

In my opinion, if you're used to a Magimix, you will not like the cheaper ones like Ninja - noisy & not as stable or as effective.

Had a look in John Lewis, and you are right about the magimix but unfortunately the prices are now way above what I'm willing to spend.... the equivalent is nearly 400 quid ....just above my budget.

I'll probably try the Kenwood, Bosch or possibly the kitchen aid.

I saw a Kenwood in Costco for £120

Have you contacted Magimix? They replaced the motor on mine when it burned out as they cover their motors for 30 years.

dubsie · 29/01/2024 15:29

It won't be covered because the base was dropped a few years ago and cracked but worked fine right up until Christmas. It's probably over 20 years old maybe even older as it was a hand down from parents

Have you looked at ebay? Many people (ahem me) have broken the bowls but the unit/motor works fine and sell them on ebay. For my model the replacement bowl was no longer available for sale so that's why people sell the motor only. Worth a look
