How to clean a bath mat?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to clean a PVC bath mat please? Our bath mat is starting to get some black build up around the suction caps. I have tried washing it in the machine with some washing powder and on 40 degrees as it recommends but it's not really helped!

Many Thanks

Really annoying but the only way I could get mi e clean was with Dettol bathroom wipes, literally wiping each suction pad individually. Elbow grease haha 😂 a big job.

I use the pink stuff paste and a toothbrush or something like that. If it's really stubborn use some white vinegar spray too x

I soak mine in a bleach solution which helps a lot, but not completely. Worth a try for sure!

Mine goes in the washing machine- between showers it hangs over the screen so dries out

I'd start with a scrubbing brush and hot soapy water, followed by weak bleach solution if necessary.

And hanging it up to dry after every use.

Turn it over in the bath and put some kind of mould killer/bleach on it, scrub it with something to get rid of the biofilm, rinse with shower head (or bath tap + jug) at hottest possible temperature.

I put ours in the washing machine. Ecover laundry bleach and Ariel. 40 degrees.

When our bath mat hadn't been lifted after baths, I soaked it in the bath with a citric acid solution overnight. Then, I used the shower head to blast suction cups. Next, I soaked it for couple of hours in washing powder solution in the bath, quick shower blast then washer, short cycle. Back to normal again! ( I really didn't fancy using a brush round each suction cup!).

This is also what I do.

I use a large round scrubbing brush and regular bathroom cleaning spray. I use a circular motion and it all comes off easily from in and around the suction cups.
