Fridge keeps freezing!

Our fridge drives us mad, it regularly freezes anything in the bottom drawer of the fridge. DH has a theory that it's when the fridge is too full, so always wants there to be a gap in the middle of each shelf.

It's a Hotpoint and there's a digital temp gauge which says it's set at 6c (so surely nothing should be freezing?!)

I've attached a pic - this is the current fullness of the fridge, we've just taken a bag of carrots out of the bottom drawer and they are frozen solid and icy!

Any ideas? It's a few years old.

Thanks for answering my boring question Grin

Empty the bottom shelves of the fridge. Somewhere there will be a little drain hole, about one cm diameter. Get a thin piece of wire, or straighten out a paper clip. Stick it in the hole and clean out any gunk that has got trapped in it.
A friend told me this and it’s like a magic trick!
