Coffee on rug - Dr Beckmann hasn't worked - help please!

A cup of coffee was dropped on my wool rug (not by me). I've tried Dr Beckmann and he hasn't really done much. Any suggestions? Also - I've been trying to find quotes for a carpet cleaning person to come and remove and the only one so far is £108 which seems like a lot of money - but I don't really know as I've never had this problem before. Any help very gratefully received!

Have you tried the Dr Beckmann again? Sometimes it needs a few applications but it's cleared up the most awful stains that I thought would be impossible (ill dog😦) so it's worth a few more tries.

@BargainOffer - thank you for the suggestion - I tried for the second time yesterday and I think it's still damp so will wait til dry before judging. I don't think it's all gone by any means but possibly less bad. Poor dog! Hope he's better now!

Yes, let it dry then try again another couple of times. Hope it works.

Careful with the Dr Beckmann as it does bleach. I ruined my beige carpet by spot cleaning with it

I got red wine out of a cream carpet with ariel bio, a good sized squirt in a washing up bowl with hand warm water, sponged on and then sponged off again with clean water.

Vanish Gold Carpet Foam Spray will get this out.

Hg intensive stain remover gets black coffee out.Got from Amazon.its brilliant.

The coffee stain has likely penetrated deep into the pile. So you clean the surface, but then the stain wicks up and reappears. So clean it again (and again!) until there's nothing left to wick back up. But be careful not to over wet the rug, so you may need to clean over several days until it's all out. And whatever you use to clean, always test first in an inconspicuous area before you start.

I don't know if this works specifically for coffee but it worked for an absolutely enormous (and ancient) stain discovered under my son's rug.

Sprinkle the stain with bicarb until it's completely covered. Put some cleaning vinegar in a spray bottle and spritz it all over the stain so it all starts bubbling. Leave it to dry completely and then hoover up the residue. It will look like it's done nothing, but it will have loosened the stain.

THEN use the Dr Beckmann.

A tiny bit of fairy liquid in water with a dash of white white vinegar gets out most stains.

Thank you all very much! I will post another pic once this effort has dried - nearly finished the bottle of Dr Beckmann already - I think there might be enough for one more go at it
