What is on my floor?

Photo isn't mine but is a perfect example of what my LVT floors look like.

It's a build up of some kind but I'm not sure how to get it off? I hoover daily, and mop every other day but it just won't go away.

It's only visible from certain angles but it's really beginning to annoy me now. Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of this please? 🙏🏻

Did you mean to attach a photo?

Dirt. Mop with something soapy.

It looks like damage to the top layer of vinyl to me! 😕

Suspeascious · 03/01/2024 01:46

@TomeTome I've mopped so many times and it's still there after the floor dries 🥲

@QuestionableMouse I don't think it's damaged, I've been really careful with the products and equipment I use to clean it (no steam mops or scrubbing brushes etc)

Sit down and clean a patch with a cloth and see if you can get it back to normal before you do the whole floor. What happens if you rub hard with a sponge t cloth to dry it?

Suspeascious · 03/01/2024 02:01

@TomeTome a patch test is a very good idea. Not sure why my tired brain didn't think of that. Do you have any tips for what cleaning products to use?

I think it might be scuff marks. Maybe products made for buffing, shining or polishing LVT floors would help?

Honestly I’d use a squirt of fairy liquid in hot water scrub it with a sponge and then buff it with a spontext cloth. If it still looked dull/marked after that I’d assume it was in the surface.
