Steamer - water type

Newbie to steaming -

Do I need distilled or de ionized water please?

Is it possible to use fragranced ironing water ? I've no instructions so tips welcome !

Using distilled water is good to prevent scale buildup within the appliance, but you don't absolutely have to use it. I would not add any fragrance to the water.
