Washing a White Fox Hoodie?

DD's BF gave her a White Fox hoodie for Christmas and the washing instructions state that it needs a cold hand wash, no wringing. I'm tempted to stick it in the washer on a delicates cycle but am terrified of damaging her prized possession! Has anybody tried a machine wash for these? I can't believe a pretty basic hoodie heeds such precious handling! It's a white one, green logos. Thank you!

I bought DD one for her birthday and, honestly, I had no idea they had special
washing instructions. I’ve just stuck it in a 40 wash with everything else (several times!) and it’s been fine. I do hang it to dry though, rather than use the tumble dryer

I turned my daughters inside out and put it on a 'handwash' 40 degree cycle in the washing machine ( I was a bit worried as the label says 30 degrees) then just air dried on a hanger... turned out fine

I've never looked at the washing instructions either and have washed dd's loads of times on a 40 cycle.
I don't tumble dry it though.

Another who hadn't looked at the instructions. 30 mixed wash and on a hanger on the clothes horse here.

30c quick wash here, carefully dried to keep the shape!

We have had WF hoodies in our house for years. I wash on a cold wash hand wash cycle. Line dry. No problem.

DD's is the same - prized Xmas present, white hoodie with green print, I've been eyeballing it with horror in the utility room for a week now. She asks every day if it's clean yet! Gonna bite the bullet and stick it in the machine. No way I'm handwashing it. Made a firm rule against all handwashing 10 years ago and life is profoundly better because of it.

Dd has these as well. I wash everything except towels and bedding on a 30 cycle and they’ve come out fine.

Did my dd's cream one yesterday at 30 with a gentle spin then hung up to dry. It is fine.

So, I have washed on hand wash cycle, and Christmas dinner gravy stain has not gone. Anyone use anything for harsh great stained in their precious White Fox Hoodie?!? 😞

I use vanish stain remover or a little Ace bleach directly on stain prior to washing on a 30 degree delicates cycle with a 1000rpm spin

Honestly washing labels are ridic. Stick it on a short 30. Avoid conditioner.

I just turn it inside out and stick it in the washing machine.

I avoid that first thing as it says no spot cleaning! 😳😅

My DD has several of these, including a white one. I didn’t even check the instructions - it’s a hoodie! I wash them on 40 degrees with all the other coloured clothes and they dry on a hanger.

@TheFormidableMrsC interesting. Why no conditioner? It suits me , as I’m trying to reduce conditioner overall (plastic packaging, environmental, cost), but it’d be good to have an even better reason for DD. She received a WF hoodie and bottoms for Xmas as well. Sounds like it’s the older teens’ present of choice.

Re washing - I can see that OP has sorted it now - 40 degrees here.

Hi there, I just put my white fox hoodie in the washing machine at 60° to get a stain out and it has turned out fine!

Just searched this and knew Mumsnet would come up trumps! I make no apology for resurrecting this thread; hopefully other mums will saved from the pain of sopping wet white fox hoodies all over the house!
