.....let alone in my son's bedroom (2 years old) -- he has one of the biggest rooms in the house, because of damp and things?
Where do you hang up washing in your house there are some that can go in our dryer but some of the more sensitive ones, where do you put it? in the kitchen?

i hang soem stuff on the boys raidiators at night as they can suffer with croup and the 'damp' air helps them. the rest goes in the spare room or tumble dryer - depends.

Bedroom. There's no other place we can practically put it. Both dses sleep in with us and do not seem to suffer from it. It is right next to the radiator and aired regularly.

I dry mine in the bathroom, on a clothes horse in the bath.

The washing is on an airer in our bedroom. There's nowhere else to put it.

Tbh, I think the air in most rooms is on the dry side anyway so I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem (if you have central heating that is)

I could be wrong though!

Our washing takes up every radiator in the house!

foofi · 14/03/2008 09:16

Moisture in the air is a good thing - why else would doctors recommend you put wet flannels on the radiator when kids have a cold?

radiators t the moment. but soon when new kitchen we\will have a 'sheila maid' type thing in the hall

dylsmum1998 · 14/03/2008 13:15

mine goes mainly in the kitchen on clothes horse at night, but gets moved around in the day, at mo its in the hall.
i was told to put damp washing in bedrooms, especially with coughs etc as central heating drys the air and this makes coughs worse, so damp washing puts moisture back!

Our energy company advises not drying washing on radiators as it will put up your heating bills (the radiator heats your washing first, then the room, so has to work harder to maintain the same temperature in the room). Of course this is only true in rooms that have thermostatically controlled radiators or where the main thermostat is.

The only type of 'damp' that is a problem is the type that can appear from within the walls of your home, reason being it grows mould and the spores can aggravate asthma etc.
We hang washing in ds's room frequently
