TMH I heard los of good things about Spatone when I was pg and anaemic. Worth asking about.
I took a liquid suppliment (can't remember the name, but lots less constipation than with iron tabs!) and put egg yolks in everyhing I ate.
Plain chocolate is a good source of ion, too, but probably not great for the weight loss.

EMHI get that reaction to that question and I can' blame hormones.....It is because when he asks, what he really means is are you goig o clean the house all day?[grr]

FGS - sounds ;ike you've benn busy in the kitchen.

I need to go and do something. I'll be back, but not before 11

babyjjbaby · 13/03/2008 10:06

DontDreamItBeIt · 13/03/2008 11:29

Mop the floor is my Thursday job, anyway, so I've done the mission before I looked at i[smug]
I also have 1/2 hour in the kids room to do today, so not so smug, as that still needs doing. The good thing is that I migh acullygt them clean in 1/2 hour as I did quite a bi the other day.

Dame _ i like your routines. they are alot like mine. It is nice to see someone else needs reminding to check the washing and cook the tea

I'm going to add sweep the kitchen to my daily routine, now. Twice a week isn't enough

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/03/2008 11:35

Good morning all - am suffering from a bad case of procrastination today. Past few days have been busy and I've run out of oomph.

Have managed to do one load of washing. Also vaccumed dds room thoroughly

Took dds curtains down and they are in the washing machine but half the flipping hooky things snapped. I don't know why it seemed like a good idea (cept they've been up for 3 years without a wash). Somehow got to get them dry including the blackout lining and back together again before bedtime tonight. silly me.

What I am supposed to be doing:
a couple of business emails.
order sils wedding present
clean out manky fridge before tonights shopping.
vacuum the teeny bits of cat litter that have magically thrown themselves around downstairs along with the great balls of cat fur that are attached to every surface.
Find somewhere to stash all of dds things that she decided to get rid of yesterday - some teddies (brave girl) and games shes grown out of. So can take them to charity shop at some point.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 13/03/2008 12:02

I having a terrible day (posted "please help me" on Parenting) and don't know whether I want a complete day off from jobs or get on and get loads done so at least I have a tidy house.

Done

Washed nappies
2 wash loads
loaded dishwasher
food shop

To do

find out mission and do it
put books away
sort bag to school bag
find all dvds and put them in the right boxes
eat lunch
peel potatoes for tea
hoover up hamster mess
change pets water
empty bins
clean fridge and all cupbaord door handles - all sticky due to kids sticky fingers

no doubt I will add to it

Minkus · 13/03/2008 12:34

Hello everyone

luda glad but at your littlies being over their bug, and dylsmum hope yours are all over it too soon. ds was up 4 times in the night (although the last time at 4am he'd just wet the bed, his toy rabbit and ME! I'd gone to sleep in with him at about 1 am cos I knew he would be awake a lot.)

So we're having a quiet day today, have played lots of lego and little people. I got dressed about 1/2 an hour ago and ds is eating his lunch still in his pj's - although they are the third set since bedtime last night because of the puking so he's jolly well going to get some wear out of at least one pair! So today dame you have really shown me up, can't believe how much you manage to get done before the school run!

Lots of sympathy being sent to everyone else with poorly selves/nearest & dearest, and others I've missed.

No real housework going to get done today, what with poorly ds and shattered sleep deprived me, just the absolute bare minimum:

Unload dw
Tidy away luch things
Stick a load of washing on
S&S bathroom

If only the first two on the list get done I won't be too upset to be honest. Off for a nap with ds now!

tortoise · 13/03/2008 12:34

Afternoon all.
I got a postcard from DS1 this morning. Said he is having a great time.
I am dreading the washing he will bring home! Expecting soggy and very muddy stuff!

Found an injured bird this morning. Phoned the vets who said bring it down and they asked how Mickey was. Well his foot is still painful and he is limping so she gave me an appointment whcih was this morning. So again on my child free day i am fetting nothing done!

Anyway, mickey has more antibiotics to take and another bandage on which needs removing at the vets tomorrow!

Luda Hope you feel better soon and stones pass without probs.
Bianca Glad DD is doing so well at school. Good lucj in the spare room.
EHM You are so good at your individual replies. I am terrible at it!
RR You are so funny!

Hello to everyone else.

I need to tidy up downstairs. Sold a high chair on Ebay and they are collecting it tomorrow at 4pm. can't have anyone seeing this mess.

scattyspice · 13/03/2008 12:45

Hi all.

Thanks for the potty training support yesterday. Potty training has to be one of lifes most frustrating tasks!

BIANCA - well done to your DD. DS has parents eve nxt week ().

TMH - I found iron tablets made me less sick if i took them straight after my main meal. Also take calcium as helps Iron absorb. Anaemia can make you so tierd.

NAB I'll go look at your thread.

Still not doing much flying as have house full of builders and plumbers! Going to sainsburys cafe for tea tonight! Also need to buy more knickers for DD. A combination of potty training and no washing machine is not good!

dylsmum1998 · 13/03/2008 12:45

hi minkus sorry you rlo is poorly, its not a nice bug is it. ours have stopped the sickness, just need to stop the runs on dd

Bianca glad ryour parents eve was goood, well done to your dd
luda hope your stones pass with no probs

Ruby, funny thing is dd isn't always a joy top have at home She and ds are giving dh and I the run around atm!
How old are your dds?
I agree with the problem re jackets with pockets - very annoying!

Thanks to others for nice comments re dd too I'll be taking her to the shops for sweeties after school.

Well, I have a tidy spare room It needs a bit more decluttering but is at least tidy

My work meeting was cancelled (yay!) so I'm off to help dd do crafts at school next.

BBL x

Made a small start on tidying up! Big pile of papers/mags etc for recycling and carrier bag full of rubbish.
Got to pick DD2 up soon then down to school to pick DD1 up. I think DS2 has arts and crafts club until 4.15 today.

babyjjbaby · 13/03/2008 14:02

damewashalot · 13/03/2008 14:50

Well done girls, fliying seems to be happening today

Well I finished my kichen, if you don't count the floor, had lunch then sat down with ds and ITNG and fell asleep feel grotty now as was just dozing so all fuzzy, I did have to read him books lots before lunch, so that was time well spent even if not doing housework, I don't want a tidy house at the expense of doing the mummy stuff I'm sure that's the stuff they remember, not how often we hoover.

Trying to think about nice kitchen not unhoovered carpets or unmade cottage pie. I need to keep saying baby steps to myself, you all seem to get so much done!

babyjjbaby · 13/03/2008 15:08

finalyy done the kitchen junk draw why do we need 9 pairs of scissors

sagacious · 13/03/2008 15:42

I have cleaned and culled all the spices in my spice rack.
It was a wedding present that came pre filled and I realised I've never changed/used half of them.

We got married in 1997 BTW

Also checked the dates of oils/bottles [balsamic vinegar from 1994 anyone?) and thrown out flour (December 07) Gravy granules (July 07) and Mustard powder (Feb 05) Thats me boaking as I used that in a fish pie last week

damewashalot · 13/03/2008 16:40

my 6yr old son got home from school and came and asked me "Mummy, what happened to the kitchen?" looking very puzzled.

Grouchyoscar · 13/03/2008 16:52

Hello ALL

I've been busy all day. Did my morning routines then went to a Gverment Funded Initative about the value of the Community Support Worker to the community. I really bigged the ones who have supported the groups I am involved with and I hope I gave the facilitator bloke some good points

Then straight to school to do Reading Friends for 5 kids (I usually do 2!) Then collect Ed. Then 2/3rds of the way home I notice he has left his bag and lunchbox behind, so trail back to collect it and limp home.

Other than the morning routines all I've done is

Make Dr's appointment
Sort through basket of Wet washing into drying piles
Hang drying piles in various places in house.
Book childminder for Ed next week.

Yeah...Bozo Grouchy went to work a week before she had to...I got my dates muddled up . I could have done with resting up and not getting anxious about Boris reappearing. Ah well, could have been worse I suppose, I could have been a week late

I've not read the thread (Or my mail Trinity, just going to pick it up now) so I hope you and yours are all well and rosey ( for anyone who isn't)

dylsmum1998 · 13/03/2008 17:26

haha oh dear groucho nothing like showing your eager is there that did make me laugh

Bewilderbeast · 13/03/2008 18:20

HI All have come home from work early and am in bed feeling like hell. Need to rest so I can get up and go to work again tomorrow. DS has come home with a mahooosive black bruised lump on his forehead. First ever accident at nursery. He is very cranky understandably. I doubt I am going to get much rest.

EHM warm snuggly womb thoughts heading your way
grouchy at least they know you are keen
TMH good news about the possibility of keyhole surgery. For the anaemia lots of spinach and broccolli and don't drink tea with or near meals it inhibits iron absorption into the blood apparently but if you eat things rich in vitamin c at the same time (broccoli and orange juice [vom]) it helps the absorption

TheMadHouse · 13/03/2008 18:50

Evening all

I have been to the doctors re the anemia and rather than take the iron tablets straight away, I need to have more tests, as I was anemic during pregnancy and after for a while (Jas I took spatone, as iron tabs make me vom).

I am back on Monday for a barrage of blood to be taken and sent off for loads of tests, B12 being one of them. Then dependant on those results we will see. He promised to get me OK for surgery, but said we need to get to the bottom of things

He asked why I had not gone to see him and I told him that with symtoms of tireness, breathlessness etc I had put it all down to being a busy mum

No Flying has been done today, apart from a little shopping, so I will be busy tomorrow.

Love to all
