High tog feather duvet washed at launderette - but still stained [sad]

I paid £25 for a service wash at the launderette to have my quite old duvet that has been stored in a blanket box for a while (probably for a couple of years because it didn't get that cold here last winter).

The fabric was quite yellow and stained (sorry!) but not with ghastly body fluid stains, just normal oldness.

So ... what do I do now? It's far too fat to go in my washing machine. Can I soak it in the bath and take it to the launderette wet? I don't want to throw it out, it's still really thick and fluffy indicating to me that it has plenty of life left in it.

WWYD?

Put a cover on it and keep using it!

DoggyDooDooDoo · 24/11/2023 18:58

Just use it. Use two covers if you're really bothered by the staining.

I agree with Pashazade. If it were summer or if you have dry weather, I'd recommend putting it outside for a couple of days to see if the UV light of the sun bleaches it for you.

If you have a cover on it does it really matter. You know it’s clean.

Wait till the spring then get it laid out in full sun to bleach out the stains.
It’s clean now so you may as well use it.

Why does it matter? It’s still clean, right?
