Preserving special clothes

How do I store/prepare special clothing to stop them going yellow? Do I need to wash them in something specific? I just want to keep a few special baby outfits, shawl etc.
I've read about acid free tissue, can I just buy any from Amazon? Please help a clueless mum out. Just want to keep things looking white once they find their way into our attic.

Best not to store things in the attic because the dramatic changes in temperature and humidity damage fabric.
Make sure the clothes are clean and dry. Get some acid free tissue and scrunch it up to pad out the clothes so there are no folds. Wrap in more tissue and put in an acid free box. Maybe chuck some silica sachets in the box too to stop any mildew and mould.
Take the clothes out every now and then to check them and replace the silica.

With something like a shawl it’s good to roll it on a tube so you don’t put any folds in it. Cover the tube in several layers of acid free paper first.

Don’t store in plastic bags/boxes or you’ll get mould. Tyvek bags are good for preventing moths and are breathable too, so you won’t get mould.

My mum wrapped Dts baptism gowns in brown paper and then boxed them. 15 years on they are still white although I'm not sure what I'm actually keeping them for...
