Eco laundry sheets in the post

wednamenov · 06/11/2023 11:30

I keep seeing adverts about eco laundry sheets delivered through the post. I'm so tempted. But ....

Do they really work?

Are they cost effective?

I can't afford to waste money right now so would love to hear from MNers who use them.

You can buy Dr Beckmann ones in the supermarket if you wanted to try some

Do you mean the laundry detergent compressed into sheets one? (I think Dr Beckmann only do the colour catcher type sheets, not detergent.)

I find that they work well, just as well as powder does. It's more expensive per wash than powder though, I tolerate the higher price for compact storage and no mess. They're also great to take on holiday for hand washing clothes (store in a plastic, sealable, sandwich bag because it gets messy if they get damp). I'm currently using this brand https://laundrysheets.com I have also used Tru Earth (I think they are also branded as Earth Breeze) in the past and they were great, but not readily available anymore for some reason. I always use unscented as otherwise I get itchy.

If money is an issue then I would stick with powder from the supermarket, not pods or liquid as I find they make the machine a bit manky and don't clean as well as the powder anyway.

I love them. Amazon do quite a selection if you fancied trying them out with no commitment.

No, Dr Beckmann does laundry detergent sheets too. They have bio and non bio versions

I didn't know that @dementedpixie It's a pity they don't have them here as I have to order my sheets online.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 06/11/2023 12:56

They’re brilliant for hand-washing when travelling.

Thank you all. I'll give the Dr Beckman ones a go. Wish they were at least an equivalent price 😣. I'm having to watch every penny these days but love the idea of space and less mess.
