Cleaning routine

I've name changed for this as probably sound like an idiot!

I'm not a particularly domesticated person when it comes to cleaning, have had a cleaner for years for for one reason and another we've decided to try and keep on top of it ourselves having just a 'deep clean' every month or so.

People who have a relatively clean house, what jobs do you do daily / weekly and do you have some kind of schedule? What could I get away with leaving for the monthly deep clean? I just want to get an idea of how much time I will need to find and how people would normally fit it in and what works best.

Relatively big house 6 bed / 3 bath, 2 primary kids and a dog, both work full time from home.

Any tips would be grand!

I'm only just starting with this too but have a look at The Organised Mum Method. She's got a website with some free printable routines that you can use as a starting point.

I've got to say, I'm not very good at the deep clean stuff.. I just get round to those when I notice them!..
However I do a big clean once a week which includes dusting, hoovering, mopping, kitchen clean, bathroom clean and change all bedsheets.

Then daily I do a load of washing (making sure to dry and put away) I wipe the bathroom down and the kitchen is wiped down at the end of the day.

Other than that, I just try and keep things ticking over all week, and hoover upstairs on a Wednesday and hoover downstairs daily.

I have 3 kids so the hoover always seems to be out!

Good luck.. I have a love hate relationship with cleaning!

I use TOMM too. With a large house it will take you and your partner longer than the time she allows.

Thanks! TOMM looks like a good start. I did think some of the timings looked a bit light but I quite like the idea of focusing on 1 area per day, seems less daunting then.

This is pretty much my routine too. Washer on every day. Send ironing out tho.

Big clean including dusting at the weekend and all beds changed. Tumble dry all the bedding

Hoover every couple days or every day if the dogs have been particularly hairy.

Clean kitchen and put dishwasher on at night

Wipe bathroom down most nights and clean shower while I'm in it weekly.

Once a month hoover skirtings and scrub marks off walls / doors

Every couple months go through wardrobes and donate stuff to charity etc.
supposedly then we don't accumulate clutter but nobody has told the dc that!
